President awarded diplomats, who made a considerable contribution to the organization of the Summit of Francophonie, and medal winners of the World Weightlifting Championship

By the presidential decree, for the glorious victory at the World Weightlifting Championship and for decently representing the Republic of Armenia on the international arena, the weightlifter Simon Martirossian was awarded the second degree Medal for Services Rendered to Fatherland. For presenting reputably the Republic of Armenia on the international arena and for a brilliant performance at the World Weightlifting Championship the weightlifter Gor Minassian was awarded the Medal of Gratitude.

By another presidential decree, for the considerable contribution to the organization of the 17th Summit of Francophonie in the Republic of Armenia, for exceptional responsibility and dedication, the second degree medals for the Services Rendered to Fatherland were awarded to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Lebanon Vahagn Atabakian, Secretary General of the MFA Vahagn Melikian and the Chief of the RA MFA State Protocol Service Levon Minassian.

Today, at the Presidential Palace the ceremony of handing the awards took place. President Sarkissian congratulated the diplomats and athletes and noted, “These victories are of international importance, one in sports, another on the diplomatic area. And, of course, in both cases our country was represented brilliantly. I wish these become not the last award but one among many.”
