Public Relations Department of the Presidential Administration responded to some publications in the mass media

Recently, with regard to the situation around the CSTO Secretary General, in some media outlets the opinion has been voiced that the President should interfere.

The President of Armenia carried out his activities in the framework of the authorities and functions stipulated by the Constitution. The same document stipulates that foreign policy of the country is carried out by the Government of the Republic of Armenia.

Nonetheless, in case of necessity, President Armen Sarkissian uses his experience and personal ties to promote the resolution of foreign policy issues. The mentioned necessity is being determined through the discussions held by the President and Prime Minister.
