President visited the Armenia Exhibition at the world-famous Metropolitan Museum in New York
President Armen Sarkissian and his spouse Mrs. Nuoneh Sarkissian visited the Armenia Exhibition at the world-famous Metropolitan Museum in New York dedicated to the Armenian cultural heritage and traditions.
They toured the exhibition hall, observed over 140 unique masterpieces of the cultural heritage dating from the 4th to the 17th centuries and gathered from the Armenian communities from all over the world. Among them are manuscripts, cross-stones, books and other precious exhibits, including creations of Toros Roslin, Sarkis Pitsaki, Hakop Jughatsi.
Noting that this year the Armenian culture is being presented at the United States of America at an unprecedentedly high level, President Sarkissian said that months ago in Washington, DC he participated in the opening of the Folklife Festival which also presented the Armenian culture, traditions, and customs.
President Sarkissian underlined with satisfaction the fact that the unique exhibition in the Metropolitan for months will allow the scores of visitors from the US and all over the world familiarize with the exceptional exhibits which present the historical heritage and unique culture of the first Christian nation.
President Armen Sarkissian stressed the importance of such exhibitions and expressed confidence that they will be of a continual nature and will represent in different parts of the world the centuries-long Armenian history and rich cultural heritage.
