Armen Sarkissian met with the President of the Carnegie Corporation of New York Vartan Gregorian

In the framework of his working to New York, President Armen Sarkissian met with the President of the Carnegie Corporation of New York Vartan Gregorian.

President Sarkissian hailed the activities of the Corporation and, particularly, scientific, educational, and humanitarian programs implemented by its President Vartan Gregorian in Armenia.

At the meeting, the parties discussed opportunities of the implementation together with the Carnegie of joint programs in Armenia. Speaking about the activities of the Corporation, Vartan Gregorian said that they are ready to assist in the implementation of the initiatives and ideas which will promote Armenia’s advancement. President Sarkissian stressed the importance of educational programs and noted that education and knowledge are the main guarantees of having a developed and progressive country.

The parties also exchanged views on Armenia-Spyurk relations, pan-Armenian issues, prospects of development of the Armenian-American friendly partnership, as well as a number of international and regional issues.
