A group of YSU students hosted at Presidential Palace

Today, a group of students from Yerevan State University’s different faculties were hosted in the Presidency of the Republic of Armenia. At a meeting held with YSU students far before assuming the office of RA President, Armen Sarkissian promised to meet with them after being elected President of Armenia.

At today’s meeting, the students had the opportunity to ask questions to the President, voice their concerns and suggestions which related to the mechanisms of granting scholarships to gifted young people, the opportunities available for youth from the provinces to work in their home communities, as well as the possibility of creating scientific platforms, educational systems and boosting research development, in general.

President Sarkissian considered it essential for any student to find the profession, the area where they can be the best. Talking about the educational system’s role, he specifically noted that it should first of all help young people discover their own capabilities and choose the right path.

After addressing the need to preserve the cultural heritage, our national values and national identity, the President took note of the students’ visions and approaches.
