Newly appointed Swiss Ambassador hands credentials to President Armen Sarkissian
Today, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Swiss Confederation to Armenia Stefano Lazzarotto presented his credentials to RA President Armen Sarkissian.
The President of Armenia congratulated the Ambassador on assuming office and wished him every success in that responsible mission. Noting that Armenia and Switzerland boast deeply-rooted friendly relations, the President of Armenia expressed satisfaction with the current level of cooperation in the political, economic and humanitarian spheres, and in this respect, pointed out that there is great potential for the development of bilateral relations between the two countries. President Sarkissian expressed conviction that the Ambassador’s efforts would help expand the agenda of interaction.
In turn, Ambassador Lazzarotto noted that the two countries’ friendly relations are on the rise, and the opening of the Swiss Embassy in Armenia in 2011 went a long way toward expanding the constructive dialogue. He expressed readiness to do his utmost to build on the ongoing mutually beneficial cooperation in different fields of activity.
