President Sarkissian visited Candle Synchrotron Research Institute

President Armen Sarkissian visited today the Candle Synchrotron Research Institute, familiarized with the ongoing works of the scientific establishment and its programs of international cooperation.

At the AREAL linear accelerator hall, President Sarkissian was demonstrated the capacities of the accelerator as well as contemporary experimental research works which are conducted with the use the accelerator.

Armen Sarkissian visited also the laboratories of ultra-high vacuum, precise measuring, welding, newest materials and micro tools, experimental biology and ultra-high frequency, familiarized with the level of technical support and conditions.

After the tour, President Sarkissian, together with the leadership of the Institute and officials from the area of science met with the employees, representatives of the scientific groups involved the scientific programs related to the accelerator, listened to their opinion and approaches regarding the development of this area.

Speaking about prospects of science development, President Sarkissian stressed the importance of establishing a dialogue between scientific institutions and, based on the achievements and traditions, forming a new vision for science development.
He urged the participants of the meeting to bring their part to the forming of that vision.
“We can have a small but high quality science which will be competitive at the global market,” the President of Armenia said and expressed readiness to bring his assistance to the development of science.
