President Armen Sarkissian receive Academician Yuri Oganessian

President Armen Sarkissian received today the Scientific Director of the Flerov Laboratory for Nuclear Reactions at the United Institute for Nuclear Research in Dubna, Russian Federation, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Foreign Member of the Armenian National Academy of Sciences Yuri Oganessian.

President Sarkissian said that on July 11 he signed the decree to granting Armenian citizenship to Yuri Oganessian. He congratulated the famed scientist on that occasion and hailed his contribution to the development of nuclear physics, noting that Yuri Oganessian’s repute and achievements make proud our entire nation and the country.

President Sarkissian and Yuri Oganessian discussed the process of radioisotopes production and implementation of the project for the establishment of the diagnostic center.

The President of Armenia welcomed the readiness of the renowned scientist to assist in developing science in Armenia and to make contribution to educating young scientists and their advancement.

At the meeting discussed were also prospects of science development in Armenia.
