President Sarkissian received French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian
Today, President Armen Sarkissian received at the Presidential Palace the Minister of Foreign Affairs of France Jean-Yves Le Drian who has arrived to Armenia in the framework of a regional visit.
Welcoming the guest to Armenia, whom he met two days ago at the festivities in Tbilisi, the President noted that the visit, which takes place when Armenia celebrates the 100th anniversary of the First Republic, symbolizes the steadfast nature of the Armenian-French relations and continuity of the mutually adopted policies of the close cooperation.
Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian conveyed to the President of Armenia greetings and good wishes from the President of France Emanuel Macron, who will conduct a state visit to Armenia in October, praised the peaceful nature of fundamental changes that took place in Armenia and the President’s personal role in the process. He assured that in the complex international environment France has and always will stand by Armenia.
Expressing satisfaction with the dynamically developing Armenian-French cooperation in all areas, the parties spoke about the administrative issues of the Summit of Francophonie, which will take place in Yerevan in fall, and stressed in particular the importance of the Business Forum to be organized in the framework of the Summit.
Stressed was also Armenia’s role as a bridge between the EU and EAEU which opens new opportunities for foreign businesses and investors. The parties also exchanged views on the NK peace process.
