President Armen Sarkissian hosted today His Holiness Garegin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians and His Holiness Aram I, Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia.

His Holiness Aram I congratulated Armen Sarkissian on his election as President of the Republic of Armenia and presented him with a copy of the High Berd Gospel. The Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia also said that “being well aware of your personality and years-long activities, we are hopeful that you will live up to the expectations of our people.”

The President of Armenia, Catholicos of All Armenians and Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia spoke about the current situation in the Republic. They noted that there are multiple problems which command immediate resolution, and the country should move to implement reforms engaging all strata of the society, first and foremost – the youth.
The two Armenian Patriarchs welcomed the President’s invitation to a dialogue which is the best way to break the stalemate, the right and safe way to solve the existing problems.
