President gets acquainted with work done under the Social Housing Program for Young Specialists; attends opening of a new building
President of the Republic of Armenia, President of the Board of Trustees of the Yerevan State University Alumni Association Serzh Sargsyan attended today the laying of the foundation-stone of a multi-apartment residential complex implemented under the Zeytun-3 program within the framework of Affordable Housing for Young Specialists program by YSU Alumni Association NGO in Kanaker-Zeytun administrative district.
After watching the cultural program organized within the framework of the ceremonious event, the President of Armenia familiarized himself with the construction of the building complex and the details of the project, which will be built under the Zeytun-3 program. This multi-functional complex will have 210 apartments, which will be provided to young professionals at lower prices. The complex will consist of 3 buildings and will have 15 floors. Public areas will be built on the first floor. The area adjacent to the building will be fully upgraded. The communications systems will be modernized; external lighting will be provided. The project’s total cost is AMD 4,700 million. The main target group of Zeytun-3 beneficiaries consists of employees of higher education institutions and researchers of NAS.
Serzh Sargsyan also attended the official opening of Zeytun-2 multi-functional building complex on Sevak Street, during which the YSU Alumni Association summarized the 10-year activity under the social housing program for young families aimed at providing affordable apartments under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Armenia.
The number of apartments provided under the ongoing and planned projects is 3302, the total cost of the construction - about 100 billion drams. The number of apartments already completed and in process is 2012, with an aggregate construction cost of about 43.25 billion drams.
The President toured the newly built complex, familiarized himself with the works and housing conditions, after which attended a housewarming ceremony in one of beneficiary families.
The Zeytun-2 beneficiaries are young researchers and lecturers, young doctors, artists, academics, journalists and teachers, employees of Armenian banks, credit organizations, IT companies, telecommunication operators, as well as State and community servants. The multi-functional complex has 134 apartments. The area adjacent to the complex has been completely upgraded and asphalted; the communication systems have been fully upgraded.
Within the frameworks of the event, the President was also presented another project in the new Veratsnund residential district, which will start in May, 2018, and will complete in September, 2021. A total of 1080 apartments will be built under the project.
President Sargsyan also got acquainted with the process of construction works of INS Sport sports complex, meant to organize the leisure and entertainment activities of young families in Zeytun-1, 2 and 3multi-apartment complexes, implemented by YSU Alumni Association NGO. The total construction cost is AMD 1.72 billion; the opening is scheduled for September, 2018.
