President meets with outgoing Italian Ambassador
President Serzh Sargsyan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Italian Republic to the Republic of Armenia Giovanni Ricciulli who is completing his diplomatic mission in our country.
Thanking the Ambassador for his tenure-long efforts and contribution to the development and strengthening of Armenian-Italian relations, the President of Armenia appreciated Giovanni Ricciulli’s role in the promotion of cultural exchanges, especially through this active support for cultural heritage preservation and rehabilitation projects in Armenia.
President Sargsyan highlighted the recent years’ positive trends in bilateral trade and economic relations, which resulted in increased trade turnover and Italian investments in Armenia. Serzh Sargsyan wished Giovanni Ricciulli every success in future activities and expressed the hope that he would always recall the years spent in Armenia and would leave the country with vivid impressions and a sense of complied duty. The President of Armenia noted that our country is keen to deepen relationship with friendly Italy and expressed the hope that the new Italian Ambassador to Armenia would continue to build on the bilateral relations with the same diligence.
Ambassador Ricciulli thanked President Sargsyan for appreciation and kind remarks. He stressed that he was glad to have fulfilled his last diplomatic mission in Armenia, a young nation of ancient history and culture. Giovanni Ricciulli assured that he would be back to Armenia in the future.
The parties took the opportunity to exchange views over the potential and opportunities of multifaceted cooperation between Armenia and Italy.
