President holds consultation to discuss preparations for major State events to be held in 2018
Today, President Serzh Sargsyan called a regular consultative meeting to discuss the preparations for the major State events to be held in Armenia in 2018: the Francophonie Summit and the Economic Forum to be held on the sidelines of the Summit, the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Armenia and the May Battles, the celebrations of Yerevan founding 2800th anniversary.
The meeting reviewed the relevant action plans and timetables, the finalized programs of activities, considering that little time is left to these events. Reference was made to the assignments issued by the President at the previous meeting of January 26, 2018 concerning the activities to be carried out in individual sectors.
Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian, Chief of Government Staff Vahe Stepanyan and Mayor of Yerevan Taron Margaryan came with reports. They presented the work done so far and the activities to be carried out by those State and interdepartmental jubilee commissions established under presidential decrees, which covered the technical, organizational, financial, economic and decorative aspects of the ongoing preparations, as well as other issues of topical interest.
The speakers assured that the planned activities keep up with the proposed timetable, and the aforementioned important events will be held at a proper level.
