President meets with the leaders of a number of leading companies of Bavaria in Munich

Completing his visit to the Federal Republic of Germany, President Serzh Sargsyan had working breakfast in Munich with Bavaria Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman Eberhard Sasse, Munich Bank Owner and Chairman Wilfried Gerling, Siemens CEO of the Power and Gas Division Willi Meixner and Sasse Company Co-owner Christina Sasse. The meeting discussed the current status of bilateral economic relations and development opportunities.

Stressing that Germany is a friendly country and a key partner for Armenia, as well as the number one trade partner among EU countries, the President of Armenia spoke with satisfaction about the constantly developing Armenian-German interstate relations and the high-level political dialogue, which makes it possible to translate the opportunities into specific economic projects and new success stories.

The President of Armenia noted that almost seven dozen German capital-based companies are successfully operating in Armenia today. They are engaged in different spheres of the economy: mining, light industry, electronics, information technology, construction, etc. Serzh Sargsyan expressed confidence that there is still huge potential to be tapped in these areas.

The President described Bavaria’s achievements as quite impressive, largely promoted by Bavaria’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Serzh Sargsyan expressed the hope that through joint efforts the sides could develop economic relations, account taken of Armenia’s investment and trade attractiveness, which is also conditioned by the opportunities and advantages stemming from our country’s multi-vector foreign economic policy.

The top executives of Bavaria’s leading companies noted that they could see great prospects for the development of economic cooperation with Armenia. They advised that a delegation from Bavaria’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry was going to pay an introductory visit to Armenia in the near future in order to identify mutually beneficial and promising sectors for cooperation.
