President away to Tavush Marz on working visit
President Serzh Sargsyan paid a working visit to Dilijan, Tavush Marz, where he attended the opening of the Dilijan beer factory. Accompanied by the Minister of Economic Development and Investments, factory management and guests, The President toured the newly opened factory to get acquainted with the work done, the investments made and the jobs created at Dilijan beer factory, which is owned by H & T Hakobyans Company.
The President was told that the nearly AMD2.5 billion-worth investment project is expected to have an annual capacity of 10 million liters. Started as early as in April, 2013, the construction came to completion in September, 2017. The factory itself was commissioned on August 15.
The State supported the project with the Government’s decision to grant the Company a 3-year VAT holiday for part of the equipment imported under the program. The responsible executives advised that at this stage the factory has 90 employees with an average salary of 100,000 drams. The number of seasonal jobs may reach 120.
Considering that the beer meets the best international quality standards, the output is to be marketed both in Armenia and abroad, including Russia, the United States and Georgia. The Company is set to export non-alcoholic beer to the Islamic Republic of Iran.
During the tour, President Sargsyan was briefed on the ongoing and planned activities of other companies owned by H & T Hakobians.
