Farewell ceremony for Moldovan President Igor Dodon held at Presidential Palace
The official farewell ceremony for Moldovan President Igor Dodon, who arrived in Armenia on official visit, was held today at the Presidential Palace. During their private meeting, the leaders of the two countries appreciated the results of negotiations, which will give new impetus to the development of Armenian-Moldovan friendly relations and the deepening of cooperation in the spheres of mutual interest.
“Dear Igor Nikolayevich,
I want to reiterate that your visit to Armenia will enrich the agenda of our relations and cooperation in the political, economic and humanitarian spheres because, in fact, we need it and it stems from our peoples’ best interest. Yesterday you visited the National Assembly. Today you met with the Prime Minister of Armenia, considering that there is an opportunity to address all issues on our bilateral agenda.
Of course, we have a lot in common in bilateral relations, in our peoples’ aspirations, as well as in our personal aspirations, and I do believe that we will succeed through close cooperation. I think we just need to go that way.
Thank you once again for your visit. We have held productive talks and have talked about many issues of mutual interest,” President Sargsyan said.
The President of Moldova thanked his Armenian counterpart for the invitation and, as he said, for a wonderful reception, stressing that the visit was effective as expected.
“As a matter of fact, yesterday we touched upon all the issues of our bilateral cooperation. We agreed that we will hold a meeting of the intergovernmental commission in the near future. I hope it will take place in the first half of the year in parallel with the business forum.
Yesterday we had very productive discussions with the Parliament’s leadership and the MPs. We agreed that the Moldovan side will come up with an initiative to invite to Moldova those Armenian MPs who will work in the inter-parliamentary friendship group.
I hope this will take place in the coming months. We also discussed other issues related to the cooperation of our countries. Thank you again for the invitation. Mr President, we are looking forward to seeing you soon in the Republic of Moldova,” Moldovan President Igor Dodon said.
