President visits newly opened Wigmore Clinic medical center
President Serzh Sargsyan visited today the newly opened orthopedics, sports trauma rehabilitation and spinal surgery center, founded in Armenia by Wigmore Clinic Company, which has been operating in Armenia since 2015. The medical center was created thanks to the methodology and financial investment of the UK-based Wigmore Medical Company. It is located in downtown Yerevan in a renovated building at 56, Pushkin Street, which has been serving Armenia’s healthcare system since the 1880s.
The President of Armenia toured the newly opened Wigmore Clinic medical center getting acquainted with the work done so far and the conditions available for quality healthcare services. The Head of State talked with the founders and the medical staff about the Clinic’s ongoing activities and upcoming programs.
The President was told that as equipped with all necessary medical equipment, Wigmore Clinic has been upgraded to international hospital-building standards. Besides, patient management practices and guidelines have been introduced in the institution.
The project has a total cost of USD4.3 million, of which 3.8 million has already been invested. Wigmore Clinic’s executives advised that by the end of 2017, USD500 thousand-worth medical equipment and installations will have been purchased for the center’s second surgery ward.
