President receives outgoing French Ambassador to Armenia for a farewell meeting

President Serzh Sargsyan received today Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Armenia Jean-François Charpentier, who is completing his diplomatic mission in our country.

The President of Armenia thanked the Ambassador for his tenure-long efforts towards strengthening between Armenia and France, which is our country’s faithful friend and ally, as well as for the fact that his effective activities in this short period contributed specifically to the development of the economic component of interstate relations.

Serzh Sargsyan noted that in addition to the active political dialogue, Mr. Charpentier made substantial efforts to boost the activities of the French Development Agency in Armenia, promote the involvement of French capital in different programs, among which the construction of Vedi Reservoir, the activities of Veolia company, etc.

Serzh Sargsyan wished Ambassador Charpentier every success in his future activity and expressed confidence that he would leave the country with vivid impressions and warm memories, and will remain a friend of Armenia.

The French Ambassador thanked President Sargsyan for appreciation and kind remarks, assuring that in his person Armenia will always have a faithful friend. Jean-François Charpentier said to be highly honored to have been entrusted with the highly responsible mission of Ambassador to the Republic of Armenia. He stressed that the past three years were filled with memorable and significant events that further strengthened the relationship of France with friendly Armenia.

The Ambassador expressed the hope that the Armenian-French economic cooperation will continue to develop to reach the high level of political relations between the two countries.
