President Serzh Sargsyan hosted Apostolic Nuncio of Holy See to Armenia
President Serzh Sargsyan on May 12 hosted Apostolic Nuncio of Holy See to Armenia Archbishop Marek Solczyński (residence in Tbilisi) on the occasion of completion of his diplomatic mission.
The President of Armenia thanked Marek Solczyński for his work of the last 5 years, for his efforts and great personal contribution in strengthening the relations between Armenia and Holy See.
The sides agreed that the last 5 years gave new impetus to Armenia-Vatican interstate relations, strengthening the high level political dialogue and the existing mutual understanding. According to the President, the historical events happened in this period, such as the establishment of Armenia’s Embassy in Vatican, the high level mutual visits, including the visit of Pope Francis to Armenia, ‘Visit to first Christian nation’, the ecumenical mass delivered by Pope for the memory of the Armenian Genocide victims, Pope also declared St. Gregory of Narek ‘Doctor of the Church’, enriched the interstate agenda with new content and opened additional opportunities for further deepening the cooperation.
President Serzh Sarhsyan expressed hope that Archbishop Marek Solczyński would remember Armenia during his future missions and would remain good friend of Armenia and its people.
In his turn, Archbishop Marek Solczyński thanked the President of the Republic of Armenia for the assistance provided during his entire activity and said that he was grateful that he had been given a chance to take part in historical events aimed at strengthening and deepening bilateral ties.
