President Serzh Sargsyan met with Chairman of the Board of Directors of Gazprom Alexei Miller

President Serzh Sargsyan received today the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Gazprom Ltd Alexei Miller.

The parties discussed issues related to the area of energy and gas in particular which constitutes an important element of the Armenian-Russian allied relations and interstate cooperation. According to President Sargsyan, these issues are among the most important issues on the agenda which are being discussed with the RF President Vladimir Putin during regular meetings.

Concurring that Armenia’s accession to the common economic area – the Eurasian Economic Union opens new perspectives for the mutually beneficial cooperation and enhances competitiveness of the economies, including in the energy area, the President of Armenia and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Gazprom discussed the issue of the price formation in the process of natural gas supplies as it is stipulated by the agreement with the Republic of Armenia, referring particularly to the issue of reducing the price of gas to make it more affordable for the customers.

At the meeting, Alexei Miller also presented to Serzh Sargsyan activities of Gazprom Company in Armenia implemented through the Gazprom Armenia Company, investments made by the Company, forthcoming programs, in which, according to A. Miller, social programs play an important role.
