President Serzh Sargsyan received the RF Minister of Interior Vladimir Kolokoltsev

President Serzh Sargsyan received today the Minister of Interior of the Russian Federation Vladimir Kolokoltsev who has arrived to Armenia to participate at the 17th session of the Joint Board of the RA Police and RF Ministry of Interior.

The parties stressed the importance of the close cooperation formed between the law enforcement bodies of Armenia and Russia and in this context the regular meeting of the Joint Board of the RA Police and RF Ministry of Interior conducted in Yerevan.

Underscoring that Armenia attaches utmost importance to issues related to security and fight against different manifestations of organized crime, the President of Armenia noted as important coordination of the efforts on that direction and regular specialized meetings. The growing threat of terrorism in the world, arms smuggling, illegal trafficking of drugs and other crimes, according to President Sargsyan, are grave challenges aimed at security and the continued cooperation is necessary to fight them.

The Minister of Interior of the Russian Federation thanked the President of Armenia for hosting the regular meeting of the Joint Board in Yerevan at a high level and noted that the existing high level political dialogues between Armenia and Russia, agreements reached between the Presidents of the two allied nations compel to deepen cooperation also in the specialized field, working in the atmosphere of mutual trust and frankness.
