President attended the opening ceremony of the Yerevan Open International Chess Tournament

The President of Armenia, Chairman of the RA Chess Federation Serzh Sargsyan today at the Chess Academy of Armenia attended the opening ceremony of the first ever Yerevan Open International Chess Tournament to be held in Armenia on October 1-10. Present at the opening ceremony of the Yerevan Open International Chess Tournament was also the President of the European Chess Union Zurab Azmaiparashvili.

One hundred forty chess players from 11 countries applied for the participation in the tournament which is held for the first time and among them 23 international grand masters and 9 international masters.
