President conducted a meeting on the judicial reforms

Today, President Serzh Sargsyan conducted a meeting dedicated to the judicial reforms carried out in the Republic. At the meeting with the participation of the responsible officials discussed was the state of the implementation of the strategic plan of the RA legal and judicial reforms for years 2012-2016 which was adopted in accordance with the Presidential order.

The purpose of the strategic plan is to establish in the Republic of Armenia a legal structure and judicial authorities in full accordance with the standards appropriate for a modern, democratic state. The President of Armenia noted that the strategic plan is a document which is very important for the development of our legal and judicial system, and its proper realization is significant for ensuring the continuity of the reforms.

Based on the results of discussions it was stated that in almost four years of the implementation of the plan there have positive achievements as well as shortfalls and blunders. At the conclusion of the meeting, the President of Armenia tasked the Heads of relevant bodies to take before the end of the year practical steps to bring to an efficient conclusion unfinished tasks which were envisaged by the plan.
