President Serzh Sargsyan visited the T. Petrossian Chess House

President Serzh Sargsyan visited today the Tigran Petrossian Chess House and observed matches of the seventh round of the 16th European Chess Veterans Tournament which kicked off on June 4.

The European Tournament is conducted in Yerevan is two age groups – among 50 to 60 years old and 65 and above years old players. This is a Swiss-system Tournament and will last for nine days. This year the Tournament is attended by over one hundred chess players from 18 countries. Among the participants there are 10 Grand Masters and 10 International Masters, as well as 3 female Grand Masters and one International Master. The fifth World Champion Nona Gaprindashvili and the legend of the Armenian chess Rafael Vahanian also participate in the European Tournament.
