President received Heads of the delegations participating at the Yerevan meeting of the CSTO Committee of the Secretaries of the National Security Councils
President Serzh Sargsyan received today Heads of delegations participating at the Yerevan meeting of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) National Security Councils and the Secretary General of the CSTO Nikolay Bordyuzha who have arrived to Armenia to participate at meeting of the CSTO Committee of the Secretaries of the National Security Councils.
The President of Armenia welcomed the guests to our country and underscored that Armenia, as the presiding at the CSTO, attaches great importance to this meeting which will set a good base for the session of the CSTO Collective Security Council to be held in Yerevan in October. Serzh Sargsyan highlighted the importance of the adoption of the CSTO Collective Security Strategy which has been a priority of the Armenian presidency in the Organization. President Sargsyan noted with satisfaction that some issues related to the implementation of these priorities have been included on the agenda of the Yerevan meeting of the CSTO Committee of the Secretaries of the National Security Councils.
The CSTO Secretary General Nikolay Bordyuzha reported to the President of Armenia on the results of the meeting held in Yerevan, including the signed documents and noted that the meeting was conducted in a constructive atmosphere and was productive. Nikolay Bordyuzha stressed in particular additional measures to be introduced in the security structures of the CSTO member states aimed at fight against international terrorism and extremism as well as the steps intended to synchronize the efforts undertaken in the framework of that fight.
The President of Armenia wished success to the CSTO Committee of the Secretaries of the National Security Councils in the implementation of the forthcoming programs.
