President Serzh Sargsyan had a phone conversation with the Secretary of State John Kerry

Today, President Serzh Sargsyan spoke on the phone with the Secretary of State John Kerry. The call was initiated by the American side. Discussed was the situation which resulted from the blatant violation by Azerbaijan of the ceasefire which took place at the beginning of April in the NK conflict zone. President Sargsyan underscored that Azerbaijan’s irresponsible steps significantly damaged the peace process.

The US Secretary of State reiterated full commitment of the United States to the process of a peaceful resolution of the Nagorno Karabakh problem. The parties stressed that there is no alternative to the peaceful resolution of the conflict, and it is necessary to find mutually acceptable solutions anchored in the basic principles. They also underlined the role of the Co-Chairs of the OSCE Minks Group considering the fact that it is the only internationally recognized format for the resolution of the problem.
