President Serzh Sargsyan participated at the Nuclear Security Summit in Washington

The Nuclear Security Summit kicked off on April 1, at the capital of the United States. At the invitation of the US President Barack Obama, President Serzh Sargsyan arrived to Washington to participate in the Summit. This global forum, which is taking place at the Walter Washington Convention Center, is attended by the Heads of State and Government from over fifty countries.

Discussed at the Forum will be works toward the implementation of the steps based on the previously adopted Communiqué and Working Plan and jointly adopted at the high level during the previous Summit. These steps are called to fight nuclear terrorism which poses a great threat for international security. The participants will also discuss issues pertinent to countering new challenges, thwarting threats of nuclear terrorism, and development of efficient prevention mechanisms.
