President received the Minister of Kuwait for Justice, Religious Estate, and Islamic Issues Yacoub Abdulmohsen Al Sanea

President Serzh Sargsyan received today the Minister of the State of Kuwait for Justice, Religious Estate, and Islamic Issues Yacoub Abdulmohsen Al Sanea and his delegation.

The President of Armenia noted with satisfaction that relations between Armenia and Kuwait are developing naturally and the agenda of bilateral cooperation is growing by year. Serzh Sargsyan recalled warmly his 2009 state visit to Kuwait which considerably boosted interstate relations which are anchored in the centuries-long friendship of the two nations: Armenia and Kuwait reciprocally opened embassies, the intergovernmental commission has already held two sessions, presetting new opportunities for cooperation. The President of Armenia stressed the important role of the diplomatic missions of Armenia and Kuwait in strengthening the Armenian-Kuwaiti relations and expressed hope that they will enhance their efforts.

Serzh Sargsyan underscored the importance of the cooperation in the area of justice which is developing along with the high-level cooperation in the areas of politics, economy and culture and which was launched after signing the interstate agreement during Minister Yacoub Abdulmohsen Al Sanea’s visit to Yerevan. President Sargsyan expressed gratitude to the Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and the government of the country for their considerate and favorable attitude toward the Armenian community and for the assistance provided by the State of Kuwait to the Syrian Armenians in the framework of the assistance provided to the Syrians who have been affected by the crisis in the Near East.

The Minister of Justice of Kuwait thanked the President of Armenia for the warm welcome and noted that he agrees with the assessment of the President of Armenia regarding progress registered in the relations of the two countries in a short period of time. He stressed the importance of the Armenian-Kuwaiti agreements reached at a high level and hailed efforts of the responsible officials from both sides aimed at the implementation of the already reached agreements, as well as close cooperation established between them toward that end. He expressed hope that the agreement signed during his visit will become a base for expanding cooperation and reaching new agreements.
