President met with the Ambassador of Georgia to Armenia Tengiz Sharmanashvili
President Serzh Sargsyan met today with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Georgia to the Republic of Armenia Tengiz Sharmanashvili, who is concluding his diplomatic mission in our country.
The President thanked Ambassador Sharmanashvili for his active and efficient work in the last five years. Praising the mission of the Ambassador in strengthening the relations between the two brotherly states, Serzh Sargsyan expressed hope that after assuming other duties, Mr. Sharmanashvili will still maintain relations with Armenia and the Armenian friends he acquired during his tenure. The President of Armenia stressed the importance of our relations with Georgia and underscored that it is not only necessary to preserve them but also deepen every year. Serzh Sargsyan said that it is a historic duty of the two friendly nations. Ambassador Sharmanashvili thanked President Serzh Sargsyan for his warm words and assessment of his work and assured that in his person Armenia will have another friend in Georgia. “Distinguished Mr. President, I remember how years ago when I presented to you my credentials, you said that in Armenia I should feel like I was at home and that every door I knocked would open for me. All these years it was exactly like that. Here I found exclusively understanding and warmth, and I am very grateful for that,“ said the Ambassador of Georgia at the meeting with the President of Armenia.
