On the occasion of New Year and Holly Christmas Serzh Sargsyan visited a border unit in Armenia
President of the Republic of Armenia, Commander-in-Chief Serzh Sargsyan on the occasion of New Year and Holly Christmas together with the Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanian visited today a military unit defending the borderline in the north-eastern area of the Republic. The President met with the troops and commanders serving at the combat positions, toured the stronghold, and familiarized with the service and daily life conditions of the troops.
A group of officers and soldiers, who demonstrated dedication and courage during their term of duty, received gifts from the President of Armenia. Around a festive table, Serzh Sargsyan conversed with the servicemen, congratulated all those serving in the Armenian Army on the occasion of the approaching holidays, wished them all the best and expressed gratitude for their loyal service.
In his congratulatory remarks, the President stressed the importance of the service of those who defend the frontline and underscored that our entire nation is proud of them and stands by them – by all those who defend our country with great honor and responsibility, and with their lives. The President of Armenia wished the servicemen tenacity and a peaceful term of duty.
President Sargsyan visited also the border community of Berdavan, met with the residents, congratulated on occasion of the holidays and conversed with them on the stirring problems and issues of interest.
