President received the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia

President Serzh Sargsyan received today the RA Prosecutor General Gevork Kostanian. Prosecutor General reported on the issues related to the referendum on constitutional changes which lie within the scope of responsibilities of the Office of Prosecutor General. The referendum is to be held in Armenia on December 6. Gevork Kostanian reported to the President of Armenia that a working group has been created within the Office which will respond properly to each signal related to unlawful interference with the citizens’ right to vote or to express their opinion during the ongoing campaigning on constitutional changes, the referendum proper as well as during the ensuing processes. The President of Armenia noted that to ensure a normal course of the referendum, the Office of Prosecutor General within the scope of its authority must respond swiftly to any infringement of the citizens’ right to vote and impose strict monitoring to ensure that the entire voting process is conducted within its legal framework.
