President receives Iran’s Ambassador Mohammad Raiesi

President Serzh Sargsyan received today Mohammad Raiesi, ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Armenia, at the completion of his diplomatic duties.

The president thanked the ambassador for his efforts to develop and strengthen Armenian-Iranian relations during the last three years of his tenure and wished him success in his further activities.

Serzh Sargsyan underscored that the relationship with Iran is of vital importance to Armenia and is conditioned by historical and cultural similarities, mutual economic interests and geopolitical peculiarities, and by common approaches to a number of regional issues.

The RA president and the Iranian ambassador attached importance and value to the multifaceted cooperation that has been continually enhancing within the frames of the rich Armenian-Iranian agenda and, at the same time, stressed the need for frequent senior-level visits and regular consolations.

Ambassador Mohammad Raiesi thanked the president for the support provided by Armenia during the whole of his diplomatic tenure and for the readiness to cooperate, stressing that wherever he continues his diplomatic duties, he will try his best to support Armenia and the Armenian people towards whom he has a particularly warm attitude.
