President convenes government sitting

As part of Shant-2015 Military Command and Staff Exercises, RA President Serzh Sargsyan convened and chaired today a conditional sitting of the RA government, during which the ministers presented the status of area-specific instructions stemming from military scenarios, reported on problems emerged in certain situations and made proposals aimed at dealing with them and applying more effective means of their management.

Addressing the government members at the beginning of the sitting, the president reflected upon the importance of the current military exercises, underscoring that each military exercise tries to solve two crucial tasks - instructive and testing. The end goal is be ready to take maximally effective measures in case of real-life events in order to eliminate the danger posing threat to the country’s territorial integrity and security. Serzh Sargsyan also talked about the need to sum up the results of the ongoing measures and to compile necessary papers in order to evaluate the work of the sub-units and their heads participating in the military exercise and design plans for the removal of shortcomings the implementation of which will by itself become a preparatory phase for next military exercises.

After listening to the reports of the government members and making respective decisions, the president gave necessary instructions for their implementation.
