President attends opening ceremony of DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel

President Serzh Sargsyan attended today the opening ceremony of the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, a part of the Hilton Worldwide global hospitality company.

The Armenian president toured the newly-opened hotel complex built in accordance with high international hotel brand standards, familiarized with the investments, the newly-created jobs and the quality of services offered. The opening of the hotel was carried out by Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan, Renco CEO Giovanni Rubini and a shareholder in Renco, Giovanni Gasparini.

The DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel has been built by Renco in the territory of the former velodrome based on a public-private partnership agreement. During the sixteen-month-long construction process, Renco engaged more than 500 employers. According to the executives, the hotel staff will include 200 employers.

During the tour, the president was also presented the development project of the territory of Yerevan’s former velodrome, according to which Renco plans to implement an ecological project on the remaining part of the former velodrome’s territory, which involves creating green areas and fountains, thus making the public and commercial sector more attractive. The company plans to finish the project in five years and make an investment of 130-150 million EUR.
