President attends opening ceremony of logistical center of Urban Logistic Services CJSC

President Serzh Sargsyan attended today the official opening ceremony of the logistical center of Urban Logistic Services CJSC in the administrative district of Shengavit.

The President toured the center, familiarized himself with the capabilities of the warehouse complex built in accordance with modern international standards, the large-scale investments, the favorable conditions created by Urban Logistic Services to help domestic manufacturers and foreign companies integrate into the local market, have their cargoes stored and managed, as well as with the prospects to develop logistics in Armenia.

During the tour, the Armenian president was presented that with its modern internal and external warehouse infrastructures and European warehouse technologies, the seven-hectare warehouse complex meets international security and storage standards.

According to the government officials in charge of economy and the business representatives participating in the opening ceremony, the newly-opened center of Urban Logistic Services is the first and only logistical operator of its kind in the Caucasus which offers a full range of logistical services based on 3PL format, owing to which Armenian manufacturing and trade organizations, importers and exporters, as well as other market players have the opportunity to work in line with international standards. According to them, this unique investment project of modern competitive business and regional importance is a successful example that will have a positive impact on our country’s economic attractiveness, thereby increasing Armenia’s role in the Caucasus as a transit country and stimulating its integration into the global economy.

The opening of the logistical center gives Armenian companies the opportunity to cut costs, thus directing their resources from warehouse functions to manufacturing and trade infrastructures.

The company’s executives informed President Serzh Sargsyan that Urban Logistic Services already serves more than 100 Armenian and international companies through offering them cargo storage, warehouse material stocks management, packing, delivery and a number of other services.
