President Serzh Sargsyan receives members of Najarian philanthropic family
President Serzh Sargsyan today received the members of the American-Armenian philanthropic family of Najarians, benefactors Dr. Vartkes and Mary Najarian, their son, Glendale Mayor Ara Najarian, his wife and son, Palmira and Christopher Najarian.
The president awarded benefactors Vartkes and Mary Najarian the second-class Medal of Services to the Motherland for their significant contribution to the strengthening of motherland-diaspora ties and for their long-lasting charitable and philanthropic activities. The Armenian president congratulated benefactors Dr. Vartkes and Mary Najarian who are famous for engaging in a variety of activities not only in the U.S., but also in Armenia and Artsakh, and their family members, expressed his thanks for continuously supporting the homeland in the most difficult times for the Armenian people, starting from the 1988 devastating earthquake and ending with the years of the Artsakh Liberation War when they put their lives at risk working in trenches and tents and saving lives of hundreds of soldiers, and for assisting Armenia and Artsakh with their professional knowledge and skills, as well as with multiple donations. The president stressed that our people greatly appreciate the patriotic activities of the American-Armenian benefactors.
The Najarian family members thanked the RA president for being awarded the high state decoration. They noted that it is a great honor and responsibility to receive such an award and assured the president that they will continue to maintain strong ties with the Motherland, trying their best to help Armenia and the Armenian people.
