President receives NPCSC Vice Chairperson Chen Changzhi

President Serzh Sargsyan received today the delegation headed by Chen Changzhi, Vice Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPCSC) of the People’s Republic of China (PRC).

Welcoming the delegation to our country, the president attached importance to senior-level reciprocal visits in terms of strengthening bilateral interstate ties. According to him, they greatly contribute to the development of relations between the two friendly countries and to collaboration in various spheres. In that context, Serzh Sargsyan touched upon his visit to China paid in March this year on PRC President Xi Jinping’s invitation, expressing his gratitude for the excellent organization of the visit, the warm hospitality and the effective meetings, during which some important mutual agreements had been made and a number of documents had been concluded aimed at boosting cooperation between Armenia and China. President Serzh Sargsyan assured that their implementation status and the results of his visit will be summarized at the session of the Armenian-Chinese Intergovernmental Commission to be held in Yerevan in the upcoming days.

The Armenian president noted that his meetings both with PRC President Xi Jinping and NPCSC Chairman Zhang Dejiang, as well as the excellently organized economic forum in Boao had left a wonderful impression on him. The president stressed that as every year passes, Armenia seeks to further reinforce ties with China, one of the world’s leading countries, and is glad that there a is positive dynamic in bilateral relations.

NPCSC Vice Chairperson Chen Changzhi expressed satisfaction with his previous meetings with RA legislators and government executives held during his visit to Armenia, which, according to him, give fresh stimulus to inter-parliamentary and intergovernmental cooperation. Chen Changzhi, too, placed great importance on President Serzh Sargsyan’s visit to China aimed at the development of Armenian-Chinese relations, noting that China equally values the results of the meeting and considers that it has established firm foundations to deepen multifaceted cooperation and reinforce bilateral ties in an atmosphere of mutual trust.
The interlocutors attached value to Armenian-Chinese cooperation within the frames of international organizations based on mutual respect.

The RA president and the NPCSC Vice Chairperson also greatly appreciated the close cooperation between the two friendly countries’ ruling parties.
