President receives OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Serbian Foreign Minister and First Deputy Prime Minister, Ivica Dačić
President Serzh Sargsyan today received the delegation headed by OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Serbian Foreign Minister and First Deputy Prime Minister, Ivica Dačić.
The president greatly appreciated the work done by the OSCE and its role not only as a key institution involved in the NK peace process, but also as an organization promoting security in all of Europe. Serzh Sargsyan stressed that Armenia is always ready to support the implementation of Serbia’s priorities during the whole course of its OSCE Chairmanship.
Serzh Sargsyan expressed satisfaction with the current effective cooperation with the OSCE Office in Yerevan, noting that our country is keen on continuing and deepening that cooperation.
The Armenian president and Ivica Dačić also discussed issues related to the Armenian-Serbian bilateral agenda and its development prospects.
Serzh Sargsyan asked Ivica Dačić to convey his warm regards to President Tomislav Nikolić of the friendly country of Serbia and underscored that his participation in the ceremony commemorating the Armenian Genocide victims held in Yerevan on April 24 this year is not only a perfect manifestation of friendship between Armenia and Serbia, but also a reiteration of Serbia’s commitment to confronting crimes against humanity.
At the meeting, the interlocutors agreed that the establishment of diplomatic missions in Yerevan and Belgrade will give fresh impetus to the friendly relationship between Armenia and Serbia.
Ivica Dačić emphasized that Serbia, too, is keen on strengthening its relations with Armenia and promoting bilateral collaboration through taking certain steps and accomplishing mutually beneficial programs.
The OSCE Chairperson-in-Office praised Armenian authorities for their cooperation with different OSCE institutions, including the OSCE Office in Yerevan.
At the meeting, the interlocutors touched upon the mediating efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group aimed at the resolution of the NK conflict, the issues present at the current stage of negotiations and upon regional challenges.
The president stressed that Armenia will continue to cooperate with the Minsk Group to reach a settlement in accord with the principles set forth by the Minsk Group based on principles and norms of international law, the UN Charter and the provisions of the Helsinki Final Act.
