President receives Czech Constitutional Court Chief Justice Pavel Rychetský
President Serzh Sargsyan today received Pavel Rychetský, Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court of the Czech Republic, who has arrived in Armenia on the invitation of the RA CC president.
Serzh Sargsyan welcomed the dignitary to our country and attached importance to frequent reciprocal visits in terms of strengthening cooperation and conducting exchange of experience. According the Armenian president, they provide the opportunity to comprehensively discuss professional issues in an unconstrained atmosphere and exchange opinions on problems related to the Constitution. Serzh Sargsyan said that the Czech chief justice’s visit is also useful at the current stage of constitutional amendments started in Armenia, underscoring that every country’s experience, especially that of a European country, is crucial to Armenia.
The president expressed satisfaction with interstate relations between Armenia and the Czech Republic and their multifaceted cooperation which, according to him, have sufficiently intensified in recent years. The president expressed confidence that with the development of relations in the legal field cooperation between the two friendly countries will become more complete.
The Czech chief justice greatly appreciated the cooperation with the Armenian CC and stressed that Armenia, as a cradle of European civilization, only arouses respect, and the Czech Republic is ready to further enhance cooperation with its Armenian counterparts.
Pavel Rychetský introduced the RA president to the path followed by the Czech Constitution founded back in 1920, its achievements, the current system of constitutional jurisdiction in the country and the present steps aimed at its improvement.
The Armenian president reciprocally presented to the guest the process of constitutional amendments in the RA, the respective close cooperation with European institutions, as well as the importance of the mentioned amendments to our country and their goal.
