President receives Veolia Chairman and CEO Antoine Frérot
President Serzh Sargsyan today received Antoine Frérot, Chairman and CEO of Veolia Environment S.A., a leading French company. Veolia is the owner of Yerevan Djur CJSC which has been implementing the 10-year Lease Contract for Yerevan and Adjacent Villages Water Supply and Wastewater Systems signed in 2006.
The Armenian president welcomed the guest and attached importance to the activities carried out by Veolia in our country, underscoring that the current results show that so far the company has been making considerable progress in fulfilling its obligations. Serzh Sargsyan expressed the hope that Mr. Frérot’s visit to Armenia will give fresh impetus to Yerevan Djur’s activities.
« Veolia’s CEO noted that his company takes pride and high responsibly in working in Armenia and uses its huge international experience in water supply and wastewater systems in our country. Antoine Frérot stressed that Veolia plans large and ambitious projects in Armenia and has a desire to expand the geography of its activities from the capital to Armenia’s other cities and villages. According to him, the ultimate goal is to ensure 24-hour water supply everywhere in Armenia.
The CEO informed the Armenian president that Veolia is actively preparing to take part in the contest to be held by the RA government next year and will do its best to meet the contest requirements and be of help to Armenia and the Armenian people through its experience and high quality services.
