President Serzh Sargsyan meets with French President Francois Hollande
President Serzh Sargsyan today held a meeting with French President Francois Hollande who has arrived in Armenia to take part in the commemorative ceremony devoted to the Armenian Genocide Centennial.
Serzh Sargsyan welcomed President Hollande and noted that it is a great honor for him to host the French President in Armenia once again where he is a very expected guest and a beloved guest. In his speech, Serzh Sargsyan expressed his gratitude for the French President’s statement in which he pledged to stand beside the Armenian people today and take part in the commemorative events.
Serzh Sargsyan stressed that Armenia is proud of its special relationship with such a country as France which is based on this kind of steps. The President noted that he highly appreciates the speech made by Mr. Hollande today and the messages sent to the world through it without which today’s commemorative events would not have been complete.
Francois Hollande stressed that he feels that he has taken part in a historic event in Yerevan; historic because it is the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, and historic because all the participants of the event sent a message of peace and hope to those nations who have been oppressed and have suffered difficulties throughout history.
