President attends Armenian Youth Foundation’s Haykyan Awards Ceremony
This evening President Serzh Sargsyan attended the Haykyan Awards Ceremony at the Yerevan State Chamber Theatre, which was organized by the Armenian Youth Foundation.
The goal of this annual event is to encourage the achievements of all those youth organizations and more or less successful young citizens, including those of students, who have displayed activity throughout the year and have implemented meaningful projects in various areas. The nominations for the Haykyan Awards honoring the best youth organizations and projects of 2014 are as follows: Best Intercollegiate Project, Best International Youth Project, Best Youth Scientific Achievement, Best Regional Student Self-Government Body, Best Student Self-Government Body, Best President of Student Self-Government Body, Best Military Patriotic Project, Best Yerevan-Based Youth Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) and Best Regional Youth NGO.
Besides the traditional nominations, special prizes had also been established which were awarded to the prize-winners by President Serzh Sargsyan. Special prizes were delivered to ArmComedy as Best Youth Program, to Jivan Avetisyan as Director of the Movie about the Artsakh Liberation War, “Tevanik,” to Aram MP3 as Best World Stage Artist, to the Office of the Federal Agency Ruscooperation in Armenia as Best International Organization Supporting Youth, Hasmik Yeremyan as School Teacher in Border Community (Armenian Language and Literature) and to Norayr Kamalyan for demonstrating great courage and devotion while defending the borders of the fatherland.
Apart from the symbolic statue, this year’s Haykyan prize-winners also received valuable gifts.
President Serzh Sargsyan congratulated all the prize-winners, once again welcomed the initiative of the Armenian Youth Foundation and wished the young people further success.
