On occasion of New Year and Christmas Serzh Sargsyan visits one of Armenia’s border defense posts

On the occasion of New Year and Christmas, RA President and the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, accompanied by the Catholicos of All Armenians, Karekin II, and the RA Minister of Defense, Seyran Ohanyan, today visited one of Armenia’s south-western border defense posts. The President met soldiers and commanding officers performing their service on the frontline, toured the military post and familiarized with the conditions in which soldiers serve and live.

The Armenian President handed out presents to a group of officers and soldiers who have demonstrated selflessness and courage while performing their service. Serzh Sargsyan talked to the soldiers gathered around the festive table, congratulated all servicemen of the Armenian army on the upcoming holidays, wished them all the best and thanked for their selfless service: “For each of us God or Fate allocate certain time period where he is himself important, where he is himself responsible, he is himself the defender of the motherland, he is himself responsible for stability in the country and he is himself responsible for well-being. Today, the ones who are here with us and our entire armed forces are themselves responsible. Beginning with the boy from Gavar sitting here and ending with generals, they are all responsible for Karabakh, Gyumri, Lori and Ararat and for our native land. I wish all of you strength, vigor and power to creditably fulfill this crucial mission in the period allocated to us,” said the RA President.
