President hosts festive reception for representatives of Armenia’s business community
On the occasion of New Year and Christmas, the Armenian President today hosted a festive reception at the Presidential Palace for the representatives of Armenia’s business community. Serzh Sargsyan congratulated the businessmen on the occasion of the upcoming holidays, wished them all the best and success in their economic activities and personal life in 2015, underscoring that business achievements and success will be not only their own or corporate, but also our country’s and economy’s success. According to the President, prosperity of hundreds of thousands of RA citizens will also be conditioned by activities and achievements of the business community.
In his speech, the Armenian President reflected upon a great many of difficulties faced in 2014 and noted that some part of those difficulties and uncertainties having objective reasons will probably continue in the coming year for reasons beyond our control. However, according to the President, for their part, Armenian authorities and businessmen should work jointly, vigorously and as perfectly as possible. “Every state and every economy in the world, even such powerful economies as the United States or the European Union may always experience hardships and difficulties. In our case, those hardships and difficulties may happen all the more frequently. It is very important that in times of difficulties and hardships we do not immediately begin to accuse others, do not immediately put the responsibility on others, and when the situation a bit stabilizes, do not immediately try to win laurels. In such situations, the most important thing is that each of us does not get into a panic and perform his/her responsibilities. In that case, such difficulties and hardships would be easier to overcome,” underscored President Serzh Sargsyan.
The President also touched upon the economic realities of the passing year. “Nevertheless, I would like to particularly emphasize my impression is that Armenia’s business community has done well in 2014 and has largely overcome the present difficulties. Considering the environment in which you have worked, dear businessmen, and taking into account the world economic situation, including Europe, Russia and our region, the year should be deemed successful,” noted Serzh Sargsyan.
In the context of new integration processes, the Armenian President also spoke about the prospects of the Armenian economy. “A new year brings new opportunities which are related to the reality of Armenia’s membership in the Eurasian Economic Union. However, we also know that new opportunities bring new challenges. I do not doubt the fact that our entrepreneurs are competitive, have their say and will utter their weighty word within the new economic union as well. You can do it by your deeds, effective work and new ideas,” said the Armenian President and underscored that he believed when gathering with the representatives of the business community around such festive tables next year, the considerable part of the outlined projects would have been already realized: “I wish those realized dreams to bring prosperity to our people and state,” said the RA President at the end of his congratulatory speech.
