President Serzh Sargsyan receives CSTO Secretary-General Nikolay Bordyuzha
President Serzh Sargsyan today received the Secretary-General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), Nikolay Bordyuzha, who has arrived in the Republic of Armenia on a working visit.
The interlocutors discussed issues pertaining to the preparatory works and agendas of the upcoming sitting of the CSTO Collective Security Council to be held in Moscow in December and of the joint session of other statutory bodies, as well as touched upon the implementation process of the decisions made at the previous sitting of the council. At the meeting, Nikolay Bordyuzha made a report of issues concerning the current activities of the organization, the results achieved within the framework of cooperation, including the development of the CSTO military component, the implementation process of the Program for Development of Main Directions of Military Cooperation between the CSTO Member States, the current activities of the CSTO Joint Staff, as well as the maintenance of security in the organization’s Caucasian Collective Security Region. In that context, the interlocutors reflected upon the shooting down of the NKR DA helicopter by Azerbaijani forces while conducting a training flight as part of military drills and the subsequent situation, which, according to Nikolay Bordyuzha, will be separately discussed at the CSTO Collective Security Council.
