President attended opening ceremony of multifunctional multi-unit apartment building built within public housing construction program
RA President and the President of the Board of Trustees of the Yerevan State University (YSU) Alumni Association Serzh Sargsyan today attended the opening ceremony of a multifunctional multi-unit apartment building built within the framework of the YSU Alumni Association’s “Affordable apartments for young journalists, doctors, pedagogues and sportsmen” public housing construction program in Yerevan’s Avan administrative district.
The Armenian President toured the building complex, watched apartments of beneficiaries, familiarized with the works implemented and the living conditions.
Within the framework of the mentioned housing construction program 338 beneficiaries, including 98 journalists, 112 doctors, 115 pedagogues and 13 sportsmen have been given an opportunity to acquire apartments. These apartments have been provided to the young specialists of the above-mentioned target groups at a much lower price than the current market prices. The total construction area of the building complex which was launched on 55/8 and 55/11 Tsarav Aghbyur Street in 2012 comprises 48131 sq. m. A total of 11700 sq. m area adjacent to the complex has been fully improved, new communication systems have been built and landscape gardening has been carried out.
During the tour, the executives presented the upcoming works to the president. It was noted that the works of tree planting and city park construction will start in autumn where children’s playgrounds and alleys will also be built.
The total amount of money spent on this housing program comprises 5.864.923.000 Armenian drams. During the implementation of the program more than 900 jobs have been created.
