President received International Monetary Fund Mission Chief to Armenia Mark Horton
Today, President Serzh Sargsyan received International Monetary Fund (IMF) Mission Chief to Armenia Mark Horton accompanied by IMF Resident Representative in Armenia Teresa Daban Sanchez.
The president welcomed the guests and underscored that Armenia highly appreciated programs the IMF implements in our country. Serzh Sargsyan stressed the importance of Mark Horton’s visit shortly after Armenia’s new government was formed which, according to the president, afforded a good opportunity to discuss the forthcoming cooperation project with the government.
IMF Mission Chief to Armenia presented the results of the meeting he had had with the leader of Armenia’s new government to the president and commended the government’s readiness to discuss joint programs and issues of reciprocal concern which proved the new government’s intention to continue conducting an active dialogue.
In the context of the reforms being implemented, the interlocutors also touched upon the pension reforms. IMF Mission Chief to Armenia noted that the Fund supported and would continue to support those reforms in the future as well since they were of huge importance in terms of the development opportunities of Armenia’s economy.
