President Serzh Sargsyan took part in festive events in Artsakh

The President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan who is presently in Artsakh on a working visit took part in festive events dedicated to the 69th anniversary of the Victory Day, as well as to the 22th anniversary of the NKR defense army and the liberation of Shushi in Stepanakert and Shushi.

The President of Armenia visited Stepanakert’s Memorial Complex together with the Artsakh authorities, the members of the RA government delegation and the guests arrived in the NKR with the purpose of participating in the festive events. The president paid tribute to, laid a wreath and flowers at the memorial perpetuating the memory of the Great Patriotic War victims and at the tombs of the Artsakh liberation war martyrs.

During the festive events, the President of Armenia also visited Shushi, laid a wreath and flowers at the pedestal of Shushi tank memorial and Sparapet Vazgen Sargsyan’s memorial, took part in a festive concert.

On the occasion of the holidays, President Serzh Sargsyan was awarded the High State Award of the Artsakh Republic – the Order of Grigor Lusavorich – which NKR President Bako Sahakyan handed to the President of the Republic of Armenia at the festival in Shushi.
