President Serzh Sargsyan Introduced Newly Appointed RA Prime Minister to Government Members

Today, President Serzh Sargsyan introduced the newly appointed RA Prime Minister to the members of the RA Government and the officials being invited in the Government’s session. “As you know, yesterday I appointed the President of the National Assembly and the RPA Vice President Hovik Abrahamyan as Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia who enjoys the confidence of the highest number of deputies of the National Assembly. Yesterday, the mass media thoroughly covered all the activities and also the issues that the prime minster and the Government should deal with. After the prime minister’s appointment the Government will continue to function and I ask the members of the Government to carry out their responsibilities conscientiously and punctually. We will form a new government together with the prime minster within 20 days and will thoroughly talk about the Government’s issues at that time. I would like to congratulate Mr. Abrahamyan once again and wish him success. My congratulations,” said the President of Armenia introducing the prime minster to the Government.

Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan thanked the president for trusting him and asked the members of the acting government to continue their efforts until the formation of a new government. “Mr. President, I would like to tell my colleagues that we have no preference for any candidate, and I should ask all my colleagues to make a grater effort to continue carrying out their responsibilities. Mr. President, coordinating with you, we will present the composition of the new government within the period defined by the Constitution. We will be guided by the Government members’ work results achieved throughout these years, as well as by their ability to fulfill new projects in the future. Thank you,” said newly appointed Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan.
