The President visited the construction site of a new government building complex after which he attended the opening ceremony of a medical device production factory in the capital city
Today President Serzh Sargsyan visited the construction site of a new government building complex being built on 3 Vazgen Sargsyan Street. During the tour the President of Armenia, accompanied by the RA Minister of Urban Development, the Mayor of Yerevan, the Chairman of State Committee for Architecture adjunct to the RA Government and other executives, familiarized with the course of the construction works of the complex. The President was reported that the construction works, started already in April 2013, are being implemented in compliance with the deadlines specified by the project: the construction works of the carcass of the subsidiary buildings are already finished; at present, the works of a means of communication assembly and a stone incrustation of the outward facade are being accomplished. It was mentioned that during the second period of the construction works of the complex an eight-floor new administrative subsidiary building with one underground car parking and construction space of about 5000 sq. meters is to be built near the façade of the subsidiary building facing Zaqyan Street. The construction is planned to finish in two and a half years.
In Yerevan the President of Armenia today also attended the opening ceremony of a single-use medical device factory of Mega Med, a company belonging to the Russian large group of companies Afina Pallada.
Serzh Sargsyan toured the workshops of the factory, familiarized with the production assortment, the investments and the works being accomplished in the framework of them, as well as the development projects of the company. According to the executives, more than 42 million US dollar investments have been hitherto made by the shareholder in the framework of Mega Med’s single-use medical device production project. At the time of reaching the whole production release volume the investments will comprise around 47 million US dollars.
It was mentioned that at the moment working contracts were signed with 112 persons. The average salary in the factory comprises 150 thousand Armenian drams. The representatives of the company assured that by the end of this May they plan to raise the production capacity of the factory by employing up to 400 employees throughout this year. Over this period, a few sorts of medical needles, syringes, insulin pen needles, as well as dripping and vacuum blood collection systems are going to be produced.
The company plans to produce an output worth around 1.2 billion drams as a result of the operation of the factory. The substantial part of the output will be exported. For that purpose, in the framework of the opening ceremony of the enterprise, today memoranda pertaining to cooperation and the shipping of finished articles of company Mega Med were signed with a number of organizations.
